DO NOT PARTICIPATE any CONFLICT before you are sure you can kill your opponent every time you attack (even you miss your first blow). That usually means that you need to have more attack than your opponent have defense, more damage than your opponent have armor + hp and more defense than opponent has attack (or more armor than he has damage)... In conflict we need to win every fight!

If you're not sure, ask. Conflict is active for 24 hours if not completed.

And remember to check if your opponent has a Dark Curse skill activated (That lowers the defense of an opponent). Ask lvl 150+ players for DC to lower your opponents' (player or monster) defense, if needed.
